In January 2008 SANET together with PIONER Network finished dark fiber connection from

Zilina (SK) to Bielsko-Biala (PL) and established forth 10Gbps cross-border line from Slovakia.

SANET experience in building and operating high-speed network for education and research in

Slovakia will be used in the "SANET to Schools Project". The main goal of this project is to

extend SANET infrastructure to other 54 cities in Slovakia and connect more than 500 secondary

Schools to SANET by optical fiber. This project will be financed by Ministry of Education and

would be completed in the year 2012.
