To go deeper on the subject of e-Science it is necessary to work in collaboration, contributing to

create a real new culture of science and open at same time, new opportunities for young

generations to develop themselves and be prepared to face the new world being built in this

beginning of century. A good network helps to make fast decisions. Fast decisions and early

information are important factors of political power. Finally, technological development itself, so

necessary to live in this new world will be favored. The exchange of ideas and communication

are building the new world of e-science.

Information about Latin America on Network Developments:

Instead of describing each network Map from the countries of Latin America, I will do the

following. I will show a table with a general number of parameters which can give us a good idea

about the L.A. networks, their connectivity and corresponding bandwidths. After that, I will

comment a bit more about the successful projects developed in Brazil, where the network is more
