South Asia supported, in part by the National Science Foundation's TransPAC2 project led by
Indiana University.
The SIG now has two sub-interest groups meeting. A group on South Asia and a group focus on
the Caribbean. A third sub-interest group is being formed for the Middle East. The SIG routinely
includes participation from multi-national organizations such as the United Nations, World Bank
and Inter American Development Bank as well as participation by other major aid and outreach
efforts in research network such as the European Commission-funded TEIN2, ALICE, and
EUMEDCONNECT projects.
